Our holiday home in Mörsdorf,
close to the famous Geierlay

Foto von Mörsdorf im Hunsrück

Our historic Zehnthaus, located next to the church of St. Castor, is a holiday home in Hunsrück-Mörsdorf. Since 2015, the impressive suspension bridge “Geierlay” is located here, one of the highlights in Hunsrück.
Mörsdorf is a typical Hunsrück village with mature structures. Here live about 600 people, the many children even have their own village school.
If you want to go on a holiday in the Hunsrück region, then you are in the middle of it all: Centrally located next to the St. Castor church, and yet quiet.

Well, from time to time the bells are ringing and you can hear the choir singing – but isn’t that beautiful?

Our Zehnthaus

Das Zehnthaus vor dem Umbau
Mit dieser Zeichnung ging es los

The Zehnthaus is located right next to Mörsdorf’s landmark, the St. Castor Church. It dates from the 17th century. We have repaired the house in 2003 and completely renovated it.

It is part of the former Catholic vicarage right next to the church in the middle of the village Mörsdorf (about 600 inhabitants), located 350 meters above sea level and on the Hunsrück Plateau above the Moselle.

The holiday home has a spacious living-, dining- and kitchen area with masonry stove and guest toilet on the ground floor, as well as a double room with bath or shower room upstairs and at the attic.
In front of and behind the house are paved terraces with historic basalt paving. At the swimming pond is a lawn with “beach” available.
The house has been rated by the DTV with **** stars.

HIGHLIGHTS

The photos are not up to date. Currently the bottom of the pond is covered with foil. In the middle he is 190cm deep, – but falls off gently. The water is clear, and you can see the bottom everywhere. You have your own lawn there, – so to say a small private “beach”.

In 2015, the “Geierlay” was completed: For a few months, it was the longest suspension bridge in Germany. The community had to give up this title again, but it is still really beautiful. It connects Mörsdorf with Sosberg and is part of a diverse hiking network.

SITE & AMBIENCE

IMPRESSIONS FROM YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Here on the Hunsrück mountain ridge the sun shines longer than down at the Moselle. Nevertheless, you can always make a trip there.
By car you are in 25 minutes in Treis-Karden or Cochem on the Moselle. Or in 10 minutes in Kastellaun, a pretty Hunsrück town.

Mörsdorf with its 600 inhabitants has a KiTa, a village school, a bakery with cafe, a museum with a cafe, a restaurant in the visitor center, a pizzeria and other restaurants and lots of beautiful nature, which starts right next to the village.

And of course the Geierlay suspension rope bridge, which is part of a large hiking trail network.

FEEDBACK FROM OUR VISITORS

De natuur is prachtig.
