The holiday home CASA 151 is located in Switzerland – in beautiful Bergell – and there in the even more beautiful village Soglio.
The magazine GEO has listed it as one of the 10 most beautiful mountain villages in Europe.
The houses, narrow streets and cottage gardens give the place a noticeable Mediterranean flair, and the breathtaking scenery of the Bergeller Alps completes the perfect mountain village, which lies at 1050 m altitude.

FOTOS & BESCHREIBUNG
Your holiday home in Soglio
Formerly the house was called Casa von Paepcke (that’s the name of my grandfather, who bought the house in the 1960s). As there are no street names in Soglio, the postal address is Casa 151, 7610 Soglio.
It is located between neighboring houses on the eastern edge of the village Soglio. The location on the mountainside offers a clear view over the mountain landscape and the roofs of the village.
Built from solid natural stone 300 years ago, the house was restored in the 1960s by making sure to harmonize history with functionality. The interior comprises mostly wood, but also the typical Bergeller granite, as it has been used in this region for generations.

Soglio is also known for its chestnut groves.

The house is called “151” because there are no street names in Soglio … and cars come from visitors only for loading and unloading in the village.

AUSSTATTUNG & GRUNDRISSE
The widely visible village church is of course the landmark of Soglio. It is from the 15th century.
You should also visit the Hotel Palazzo Salis. The palazzo, surrounded by a wonderful historical garden, guards the charm of bygone days.
Take a hike through the light chestnut forests below Soglio:
You could go to the border town of Castasegna and start up again after eating a chestnut cake.
Hiking and excursions
With its well-tended meadows and forests is still an intact rural cultural landscape. The mountain meadows are mowed and grazed above the tree line.
The spectacular Upper Engadin lake landscape (Maloja, Sils-Maria, St. Moritz etc.) is always worth a visit.
Stampa: museum of local history and ateliers of the Giacometti family
The small mountain village of Stampa was shaped by the extraordinary Giacometti family for almost one hundred years. They carried in two generations their surname Giacometti and thus the fame of the Bergell in the whole world. Their final resting place in the cemetery of San Giorgio in Borgonovo unites them again in the small valley between Maloja Pass and Chiavenna.
